Тема русско-японской войны 1904-1905 годов особо не афишируется во многих как отечественных, так и зарубежных исторических источниках. В советское время эти исторические события считали одними из позорнейших страниц истории Российской Империи, возможно, и вполне заслуженно. По версии тех времён, разложившаяся царская армия огромной страны не смогла дать отпор силам страны, в десятки раз меньше по площади, населению и не имеющей тех ресурсов, которые были у обороняющейся стороны. Именно эти события и послужили началом народных волнений 1905 года.
Война закончилась фактической капитуляцией Российской Империи, потерей всех зарубежных военных баз и частичной аннексией Тихоокеанского военного флота (другая часть была попросту затоплена). Все помнят воспетый подвиг крейсера "Варяг", но про всё остальное предпочитают умалчивать. В свободном доступе практически отсутствуют исторические военные фото Порт-Артура, Чемульпо и других мест сражения. Равно как отсутствуют такие фото и у визави - в Японии. Восток - дело тонкое.
